Abstract: I worked alone in remote parts of Singhbhum area in Bihar (now Jharkhand) and had to walk miles after miles to locate rock exposures, sometimes through jungles, sometimes through dried paddy fields. I faced a rogue elephant once and on several occasions was almost stung by poisonous snakes.
