Abstract: Complexes of the general formula Cp2Ti(IV)L, Cp2Zr(IV)L, Cp2Ti(IV)L1 and Cp2Zr(IV)L1 have been synthesized with N,N’-bis(2-pyridyl)pyridine-2,6-dicarboxamide (H2L) and 9,10-phenanthrenequinone dioxime (H2L1). The complexes have been characterized by different spectral techniques and their reduction reactions have been carried out with hydrated electron as reducing radical, mechanism which has been explored pulse radiolytically. Theoretical calculations have been performed to understand the effect of chelation and electron transfer processes in complexes.
