Abstract: The viscosities of lithium, sodium and potassium chlorides have been determined in the concentration range of 0.1 to 1.0 m in aqueous dextrose solution at 303, 308, 313 and 318 K. The viscosity data have been analysed in the light of Jone-Dole's equation (modified for higher concentration). Ionic B± coefficients have been calculated and discussed in terms of structure making/breaking properties of these ions in solution. It is observed from dB±/dt that Li+ and Na+ ions act as structure makers while K+ and Cl- ions act as structure breakers in aqueous dextrose.
