Abstract: Cyclic voltammetric reduction of palladium(II) ammonia complex has been studied in water as well as in aqueous organic solvents (acetonitrile, methanol, dimethyl sulfoxide, dimethylformarnide and dioxane). Standard rate constants (ks) and energy transfer coefficients (α) have been evaluated using the theory of Nicholson and Shain. The values of voltammetric peak potential, ks and α are different in different solvents. An approximate dependence of kinetic parameters on dielectric constant of the medium has been demonstrated.
