Abstract: Coordination polymers of lanthanum(III), praseodymium(III), neodymium(III), samarium(III), europium(III), terbium(III) and ytterbium(III) with 1,5-dihydroxyanthraquinone have been synthesized and characterized. These polychelates have been doped with iodine in order to improve their conductivity. UV-visible, IR, Raman and magnetic-moment studies have been carried out to gain information about the structure of the synthesized polychelates, which are dark coloured solids insoluble in cornmon organic solvents. AC-conductivity (oAcl, DC-conductivity (ODC) and dielectric constant values of the prepared polychelates and ɛDC of the doped polychelates are reported.
