| Abstract: | Membrane potential measurements across anion exchange membrane and a cation exchange membrane have been carried out using potassium chloride, sodium chlori4le and lithium chloride solutions of different concentrations at 25°C. The data has been used for the estimation of the apparent ionic transport numbers in the membrane phase, for the estimation of perm selectivity and fixed charge densities. The variation of these membrane parameters with concentration of the solution used has also been investigated. |
