Synthesis and spectroscopic studies on β-ketoamine complexes of diphenylantimony(III)

Abstract

Some new complexes of the composition [Ph₂Sb{OC(CH₃)CH:C(CH₃)NR}] (where R = CH₃, C₂H₅, <i>n</i>-C₃H₇, <i>i</i>-C₃H₇, <i>n</i>-C₄H₉, <i>i</i>-C₄H₉) have been isolated and characterised in the reactions of diphenylantimony(III) methoxide (prepared <i>in situ) </i>with the corresponding β-ketoamines in 1:1 molar ratio in benzene solution. The structures of these complexes have been assigned on the basis of chemical analyses, molecular weight measurements and spectral (IR, ¹H and ¹³C NMR) studies.
