Abstract: Littorina scabra, collected from different habitats showed high degree of variation in shell size, being maximum in mangrove habitat (22.4 mm), where the wave action is nil. In partially exposed estuarine and exposed rocky shore (marine) areas it was 15.5 and 8.5 mm respectively. High proportion of injured shells were found in mangrove area. Predation by crabs seems to enhance shell injuries in mangrove area.
