Abstract: The contents of protein, lipid and inorganic elements were at higher level in Manora species as compared to seaweeds collected from Buleji, whereas carbohydrate, crude fiber and moisture were greater in Buleji species. Rhodophyta members showed higher values of carbohydrate (28-62%) than the Chlorophyta and Phaeophyta members. Chlorophyta members showed comparatively high value of protein and lipid.
