| Abstract: | Sixteen arylazo derivatives of 3-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-5-mercapto-4-phenyl-4H-1, 2, 4-triazole and its ethyl derivative have been prepared for use as dyestuffs. The effect of the nature and orientation of substituents in the diazonium component on the colour of azo dyes is discussed. The dyeing performance of the dyes on different fibres has also been assessed. |
