Abstract: A study was undertaken to find out high demand core journals in life sciences through the analysis of document requests received by Insdoc during 1980-85. It was found that 155 identified core journals in the life sciences could satisfy a majority of document demand in this field. The first 50 journals from core list could satisfy as much as 51.85% of demand. The core list also compared favorably with the Tank lists of British Library Document Supply Centre and Science Citation Index (JCR 1984) as well.
