Abstract: | Shahajannur district comes under tarai region of Uttar Pradesh. A field survey was conducted to study the medicinal values of the bark of different tree species, available in the rural areas of the district. Traditional knowledge was obtained from Ayurvedacharyas, Hakeems, Village Pradhans and Saints of this region. Since trained doctors are not available in the rural areas and cities are far away from villages, villagers depend on different plant species for their treatment. Study was carried out on the bark of 19 tree species. If chemical analysis is done as per this study, then it would be possible to establish a Pharmaceutical industry. |
