Image processing technique has been evaluated for its effectiveness in measuring the textured yarn bulk. The effect of air-jet texturing process variables on textured yarn physical bulk and yarn structural irregularity has been studied. Physical bulk obtained through image analysis is ineffective in prediction of realisable yarn bulk in the fabric. However, the image analysis method is useful for evaluation of structural irregularity of textured yarn.en_US
