Abstract: Inverse relaxation in cotton, polyester and cotton/polyester blended fabrics has been studied. For a given extension level, the inverse relaxation index at different retraction levels follows the same trend as is observed in fibres and yarns. It is also observed that the inverse relaxation index maximum is spread over a wide range of retraction levels in the case of 100% polyester fabric, whereas it restricts to a short retraction range in the case of 100% cotton fabrics.
