Abstract

<span style="font-size: 15.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:8.0pt;font-family:" times="" new="" roman","serif""="">Effect of coumestans isolated from the leaves of <i><span style="font-size: 15.5pt;mso-bidi-font-size:8.5pt;font-family:" times="" new="" roman","serif""="">W.calendulacea </span></i><span style="font-size:15.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:8.0pt;font-family: " times="" new="" roman","serif""="">was evaluated in paracetamol induced liver damage. The increased serum enzyme levels (lactate dehydrogenase, alanine and aspartate transaminase and alkaline phophatase) by paraceramol induction were sign ificantly lowered due to coumestans treatment.
