Abstract: The wool fabrics have been treated under different low-temperature glow discharge conditions (25-200W, 20- 100Pa and 0.5-30min), dyed with reactive dye at a constant dyeing temperature and then studied for the dyeing behaviour based on dye uptake and fixation. It is observed that the treated wool fabrics can be dyed quickly and a higher dye uptake can be obtained at 80°C. It is also shown that the plasma treating time, power and pressure also influence the dyeing behaviour of treated wool greatly.
