| Abstract: | This paper gives an overview of the patenting activities in India. The Patents Act, 1970, its salient features, comparison with the Patents & Designs Act 1911 and post WTO scenario are discussed in detail. In spite of the limitations of the Patents Act, 1970, it has provided much needed impetus not only to the R&D activities but also to industrial development of the country. |
