Abstract: | Larval pupation site preference (PSP) is an important event in preadult development. The PSP was studied on the basis of the number of larvae pupated at different sites in the cultures. The results revealed that the larval PSP in different species of Drosophila varies significantly at different sites. The sympatric species also differ in their PSP and the pupation behaviour does not correspond with the taxonomic relationship between the species. |
