| Abstract: | Stacking, assisted by hydrophobic interaction, has been investigated in a series of cyanine dyes with varied alkyl chain length. Both plane-to-plane and end-to-end stacking have been observed simultaneously in the presence of surfactants. Slippage in stacking due to functional group of surfactants has been proposed. |
