Abstract: | This study presents an open-source 3D reconstruction and visualization technique using Visualization Toolkit (VTK) on magnetic resonance image (MRI) for Nuchal Translucency (NT) assessment. Real time 3D reconstruction model can be achieved through a series of computation processes, which include DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine) sources manipulation, grey interpolations, ray casting, color and opacity transfer function, and volume rendering. Experimental simulations show that 3D measurements of NT provide higher accuracy and consistency of thickness measurement. |
