Natural Product Radiance(NPR)

 

INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS 

 

The Natural Product Radiance is dedicated to the exploration of the topics that confront both educators, frontline workers in the field, entrepreneurs and ultimate users of the value added products and their resources. It is a bimonthly journal of which four issues (February, April, August and October) are devoted to original research papers, reviews and feature articles whereas June and December issues to current literature and other information compiled and collated by editors (formerly papers and other information were published together in all six issues).

 

Current literature and other information included in two issues have been classified in categories of products/fields like, beverages, cosmetics, dyes, fibre, food, fruit, fuel, insecticides, oil/fats, therapeutics and vegetables, etc. In brief, forthcoming seminars, conference and exhibition reports, projects & schemes and book reviews are also published for maximum coverage of information for readers. Letters from readers concerned with suggestions and supplementation of information on any item appearing in this journal are also welcomed for publication in readers’ write column.

 

SCOPE OF THE JOURNAL

 

The scope of this journal is multidisciplinary. It will consider original unpublished research papers, especially of applied nature, reviews and feature articles dealing with the cultivation, disease control measures, post harvest technology, development processes of various products and utilization (including ethnobotany and pharmacology) related aspects of plant and animals in broadest sense.

 

Feature articles are similar in style to review, highlighting specific topics of broader utility to science. Articles on floriculture, systematic botany, introduction and cultivation practices (including tissue culture) will be included in Green page column. Innovations, traditional uses and practices will be published in the Explorer column for community benefit with specific interest to the rural areas and further developments. Reports on projects and schemes, book reviews, overview of trends and coverage of conference and exhibitions, announcements are also solicited for publication in respective columns.

q       Refereeing: Papers received for publication are sent for reviewing by experts to have a correct assessment of the information/ research.

q       Timeliness: After refereeing approved and revised papers are published within 6 to 10 months.

q       Free Publication: No page charges are realized from authors for publishing papers in the journal.

q       Free Reprints: 25 free reprints are sent to correspondent authors.

q       The journal is widely circulated in National libraries, All India Radio and some news agencies.

q       Supplements: There is provision for publishing Guest edited supplements on special topics/products.

q       In addition to contributed papers over 90 user-friendly and result oriented digests with original references are published in two issues.

q       The text matter is liberally interspersed with coloured/ black & white photographs and illustrations.

q       Scientific and common names index is given in each issue.

q       Various annual indices are given in 6th issue.

 

INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CONTRIBUTORS               

1. All manuscripts must be submitted in MS Word in Floppy or CD or through E-mail attachments along with two hard copies.

2. The manuscripts are to be arranged in following order: 

·        Title of the article

·        Name of the authors, full address and E-mail.

·        In case of multiple authors and an asterisk (*) mark should be made with the author with whom correspondence is to be made.

·        Abstract

·        Keywords

·        Introduction

·        Actual text

·        Conclusion

·        Each table should be typed on a separate page

·        References should be cited in the text by number in superscript form and the list should be in the order of citation.

  1. Abbreviations for journal titles should conform to international guidelines, e.g. The Chemical Abstracts Service Source Index (CASSI), BIOSIS. Each reference should provide names and initial of the authors, demarking each author by a coma (,) except the last where and should be written. It should be followed by title of the paper, journal name (Italicized), year, volume (in bold), issue number in bracket () and the starting and closing page numbers. Example: Herzareh M, Moukil MA, Szanto I, Pondarzewski M, Mouche S, Cherix N, Brown SJ, Carpintier JL and Foti M, Mechanism of HIV Receptor and CoMFA-receptor down-regulation by Prostratin: Role of Conventional and Novel PKC Isoforms, Antiviral Chem Chemother, 2004, 15(4), 207-222.

 

  1. Books should be cited as- Raffanti SP and Haas DW, Antimicrobial agents (Antiretroviral agents), In: Goodman & Gilman’s The Pharmacological Basis of Therapeutics, 10th Edition by JG Hardman, LE Limbird (Editors), McGraw-Hill Medical Publishing Division, New Delhi, 2001 ,pp.1349-1380.
