| Abstract: | The Betul district of Madhya Pradesh is
appreciably inhabited by tribal population (ca
37%). Even today, the large segments of the tribal populations are dependent
upon plant resources for treatment of various diseases and ailments. The paper
deals with ethnomedicinal uses of 31 plants. Interestingly, most of the uses
are first hand information, which may serve as resource material for
development of new bio-actives and traditional preparations for cure or
management of quite prevalent diseases like rheumatism, diabetes, cancer, skin
diseases, etc. |
