| Abstract: | Examines Brazil’s performance in S&T during 1997-2007 based on several parameters including the country’s annual averagegrowth rate, global publication share and rank, strong and weak subject areas (in terms of national priority, international collaborativeshare and global share), institutional profile of select top institutions, overall international collaboration profile and majorcollaborative partners, patterns of communication in national and international journals and characteristics of its highly citedpapers. The Scopus international multidisciplinary bibliographical database has been used for collecting the publication data ofBrazil. |
