|Title:||Living Fossils- Cycads:Untouched by time|
|Abstract:||The cycads are a group of very primitive plants that are very similar in appearance to palms although they are not related to it.Like Cockroaches, cycads too are called“living fossils,” because they have persisted almost unchanged down the ages. As agroup, cycads reached their evolutionary pinnacle about 200 million years ago and,since then, their population has been on a downswing.|
