| Abstract: | Various research
reports have established that dietary fibre can provide health-promoting effects
such as reduced risk of cardiovascular disease. Averrhoa carambola
Linn., known as Carambola and Starfruit, is a popular juicy fruit
throughout Asia. Carambola juice is mostly used for making confectionary, juice
concentrate and refreshing drinks. After juice extraction in the food industry,
thousands of tonnes of Carambola pomace are produced and discarded as feeds. |
