| Abstract: | Paper/Pulp-The paper mills generate higher pollution load in the absence of a chemical recovery system. The utilization of black liquor for developing value added products like lignosulphonates has been found to be a possible cost effective and technically viable solution of black liquor removal. Keeping this in view researchers at ABC Paper, Hoshiarpur, Punjab and Department of Biotechnology, Shimla carried out studies to optimize bisulphite pulping of Sarkanda, Erianthusmunja Jesw. syn.
