Abstract: <smarttagtype namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" name="country-region"><smarttagtype namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" name="place"> Traditional methods of treatment using plants and animals are predominant in rural societies of Meghalaya, a north-eastern state of India. As a result of an ethnobotanical survey conducted during 1999-2002, information on 46 such plant species belonging to 44 genera and 34 families are presented. </smarttagtype></smarttagtype>
