Title: Phase transfer catalyzed synthesis under ultrasonic irradiation and bioactivity of N '-(4, 6-disubstituted-pyrimidin-2-yl)- N-(5-aryl-2-furoyl)thiourea derivatives

Abstract: Ten new N'-(4, 6-disubstituted-pyrimidin-2-yl)-N-(5-aryl-2-furoyl)thioureas have been synthesized using PEG-400 as solid-liquid phase transfer catalyst under ultrasonic irradiation. Their structures were exactly confirmed by IR, 1H NMR and elemental analysis. The preliminary biological tests show that compound 7b has better inhibitory activities against root and stalk of dicotyledon plant (such as Amaranthus retroflexus L.) in higher concentration.
