| Abstract: | Silica chloride has been applied as a
catalyst for the first time for rapid synthesis of bis-indolylmethanes in
excellent yields by electrophilic substitution reaction of indoles with
carbonyl compounds under microwave irradiation. The process is environmentally
benign. |
