Abstract: The ethyl acetate soluble portion of the initial CH<sub>2</sub>Cl<sub>2</sub>-MeOH extract of the stems of the Indian mangrove plant, <i style="">Dalbergia spinosa</i> Roxb furnishes a new neoflavonoid <b style="">1</b> besides four known triterpenoids and a neoflavonoid <b style="">6</b>. The structure of new neo¬≠flavonoid has been established as 2,4-dihydroxy-5-methoxy-1-(1-phenyl-2-propenyl)benzene <b style="">1</b>.
