Abstract: DL-serine (C3H7NO3) a neutral, genetically coded amino acid was crystallized in silica gel under suitable pH conditions by reduction of solubility method. The gel grown DL-serine crystals were characterized by density determination and X-ray powder diffraction. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopic studies and thermogravimetric analysis were also made.
