Abstract: A more realistic criterion than that of Soni S N, J Phys B, 23 (1990) 117, has been proposed for the origin of X-ray satellites in general. The criterion has been used for the identification of different transitions in two hole atoms which contribute to the formation of the L4 satellite for 48 ≤ Z ≤ 56.
