Abstract:  The Nepalis of the Himalayan regions of India, Nepal and Bhutan prepare a cereal-based fermented food, Selroti using their indigenous knowledge. The paper documents the traditional knowledge of the ethnic Himalayan people on preparation of Selroti and its ethnical importance.
