Abstract: In recent years, there is not only revival of natural dyes but also there is a drive for identifying newer natural dye sources. Every bright coloured flora is being considered for natural dyeing studies. Researchers at IIT, Kanpur studied the colouring potential of Portulaca (<b><i style="">Portulaca oleracea</i> Linn.</b>, Hindi — <i style="">Kulfa</i>) and<i style=""> <b>Mirabilis jalapa </b></i><b>Linn.</b> (Hindi — <i style="">Gulabash</i>) for wool dyeing.
