| Abstract: | A short and efficient synthesis and characterization of various tetrahydro-β-carboline derivatives have been synthesized using Japp-Klingmann condensation fallowed by cyclization. A new two-pot reaction sequence is used to furnish these compounds in good overall yield. Some of the compounds are screened for their antibacterial activity. |
