Abstract: | 3,4-Dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones have been synthesized via one-pot reaction of aromatic aldehydes, ethyl acetoacetate and urea or thiourea catalyzed by room temperature ionic liquid [hmim]HSO4. It has been observed that the proposed method is fast, efficient and environmentally benign. The reaction time is 15 ~ 55 min with the yields between 82 ~ 97 %. |
