|Abstract:||A Cu-43at%Cd alloy was solidified at different cooling rates ranging from 10<sup>0</sup> to 10<sup>6</sup> K/s. For rapid solidification, (cooling rate ~10<sup>6</sup> K/s), a modified gun splat cooling technique was employed. Metastable crystalline and amorphous phases were obtained. Solid-state transformation of the alloy into equilibrium Cu<sub>4</sub>Cd<sub>3</sub> was accelerated on increasing the cooling rate.|
