| Abstract: | Data on doctoral degrees awarded in library and information science during 2003-2008 was collected from University News. Analysis of data reveals that Andhra Pradesh has produced the higher number of Ph.Ds during the period and information sources & services, user studies, library management and bibliometrics are the leading subject areas on which most of the research has been carried out. Concludes that more doctoral research needs to be carried out in the areas of digital libraries and ICT applications. |
