|Abstract:||The people of Sonapur, under Dimoria development block of Kamrup (Metro) district, Assam, comprised of several ethnic groups namely, Karbis, Bodos, Sonowal-Kocharis, Nepalis, Tea-tribe, etc. In spite of having modern medical facilities, they use traditional methods of treatment using plants and animals. As a result of an ethnobotanical survey conducted during 2005-2006, the information gathered on 40 plant species from 40 genera and 34 families are presented. The information will provide ample opportunities for further scientific studies.|
