| Abstract: | Seventy seven plant species belonging to 73 genera and 41 families are employed ethnomedicinally by the rural people in 11 villages of district Mayurbhanj. Ethnomedicinal uses of 8 plant species have been recorded for the first time from the region. Documentation of traditional knowledge on the ethnomedicinal uses of these plants is essential for conservation efforts for the plant resources and new drug development. |
