| Abstract: | Among various synthetically important chiral building blocks, four carbon atom (C4) chiral building blocks bearing double and/or multiple functionalities are especially interesting because of their usefulness in synthesis of chiral pharmaceuticals, chiral agrochemicals, chiral polymers, natural products and chiral monosaccharides. This study reviews synthesis of D-erythritol derivatives as chiral C4 synthetic units and their important applications. |
