Abstract: A reaction of long-chain methyl epoxyalkanoates with chlorotrimethylsilane in presence of triethylamine followed by Jones<b style="">′</b> oxidation has resulted in the formation of respective chlorooxo derivatives. The reaction proceeds under mild conditions and in a short span of time. Thus, one pot synthesis of methyl chlorooxoalkanoates is assisted with high purity and good yield of the products. The pure products are characterized by IR, <sup>1</sup>H NMR, <sup>13</sup>C NMR and MS spectra.
