| Abstract: | Aldol condensation of 3-acetyl-2, 5-dimethylthiophene 1 and 3-acetyl-2, 5-dimethylfuran 2 with different aromatic aldehydes have been carried out in water in heterogeneous phases in the presence of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide as cationic surfactant at rt. All the reactions occur in short time with excellent yields of steroselective heteroarylpropenones with water as environmental friendly solvent. |
