Abstract: Urea-hydrogen peroxide (UHP), in the presence of catalytic quantities of SeO<sub>2</sub>, has successfully led to the allylic oxidation of alkenes while keeping the other chemical functionalities intact. The reaction conditions are environmentally benign as both UHP and microwave are the eco-friendly routes to green chemistry. The decrease in reaction timings with improved yields is another advantage under microwave conditions.
