Abstract: | Urea-hydrogen peroxide (UHP), in the presence of catalytic quantities of SeO2, has successfully led to the allylic oxidation of alkenes while keeping the other chemical functionalities intact. The reaction conditions are environmentally benign as both UHP and microwave are the eco-friendly routes to green chemistry. The decrease in reaction timings with improved yields is another advantage under microwave conditions. |
