| Abstract: | Two dammarane glycosides have been isolated from aqueous extract of the aerial parts of Bacopa monniera Wettst. The chemical structure of one of the compound has been established as 20-O- -L-arabinopyranosyl jujubogenin, a novel compound, on the basis of LC-MS, IR, 1D- and 2D-NMR studies. The other compound has been identified as 3-O--L-arabinopyranosyl jujubogenin, which is being reported for the first time from B. monniera. The compounds have been screened for their immunomodulatory potential using NBT reduction and chemiluminescence assay using PMN cells. |
