Abstract: Trimethylammonium fluorochromate (TriMAFC) is easily synthesized by addition of a trimethylamine to an aqueous solution of CrO<sub>3</sub> and HF and used for quantitative oxidation of several organic substrates. This reagent is a versatile reagent for the effective and selective oxidation of organic substrates, in particular for alcohols, under mild conditions.
