Abstract: | Several terpenes (mostly sesqui- and diterpenes), steroids, ceramides, nitrogen pigments, heterocyclics, aromatic compounds and polyethers have been reported from Indian marine algae, which is an encouraging feature. The research deserves to be intensified if the ongoing search for drugs has to be amply rewarded. |
