Abstract: Brij-35, DTPA and methyl orange were used as surfactant, reductant and photosensitizer respectively in photogalvanic cell and photogalvanic effect was studied. The photopotential and photocurrent generated by this system were 625 mV and 95 <img src='/image/spc_char/micro.gif'>A respectively. The observed conversion efficiency was 0.2707% and fill factor was determined as 0.40. The cell performance was 94 min in dark. The effects of different parameters on the electrical output of the cell were observed; current voltage characteristics of the cell were studied. The mechanism has been proposed for the generation of photocurrent in photogalvanic cell. Maximum power obtained from this cell was 28.16 <img src='/image/spc_char/micro.gif'>W.
