| Abstract: | Heterocyclic organic compounds namely ciprofloxacin and norfloxacin were used as corrosion inhibitor for protection of 304 stainless steel in 1.5 percent NaCl solution. The inhibition effect of these compounds was investigated by using electrochemical techniques such as open circuit potential (OCP) and potentiodynamic polarization. The results obtained reveal that these compounds are very good corrosion inhibitors and show their best performance at a concentration of 1800 ppb. Potentiodynamic curves indicate that these compounds are anodic type of inhibitors. |
