Abstract: | In vitro propagation of Exacum travancoricum through direct organogenesis with a mean of 28±0.19 shoots per internode explants was achieved upon culture on Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium with 2 mg/L thidiazuron (TDZ). Benzyladenine was inferior to TDZ in the induction of shoots. The developed shoots rooted best on MS medium with 3.0 mg/L indole-3-butyric acid (IBA). The plantlets exhibited 80% survival in ex vitro conditions. |
